You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies;
You anoint my head with oil;
My cup runs over.
Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me
All the days of my life;
And I will dwell in the house of the Lord
Psalm 23: 5-6 NKJV

The Christian Life and our food shenanigans

On the Christian life
There are three things that spread the Christ life to us: baptism, belief, and that mysterious action which different Christians call by different names—Holy Communion, the Mass, the Lord’s Supper.
If you have once accepted Christianity, then some of its main doctrines shall be deliberately held before your mind for some time every day. That is why daily prayers and religious reading and churchgoing are necessary parts of the Christian life. We have to be continually reminded of what we believe. Neither this belief nor any other will automatically remain alive in the mind. It must be fed.

One of the teen Grandchildren once wrote to me and asked me why I was so "religious" and why it has to affect the whole family.

I had great respect and love for my Grandmothers, I never questioned them. Neither of my Grandmothers were Christian. I knew it was not my place to ask why. My mother and father weren't Christians either. Before my Maternal Grandmother died she asked for a Minister, to tell her about Jesus. He told her the Church needed money and times were hard. She died afraid. My Paternal Grandmother put on a brave front. She had the foundation. One day in the blink of an eye she was gone.

My example eventually led my mother to Christ. What a precious gift from God. She fought me for years over my beliefs. What if I had not held firm? I take no credit, other than if I'd made an exception, and denied my faith, she would not have searched for herself! Praise God!!

This same Grandchild said she could see my point and her mother's point. Yet I have never told her my point. I'm not allowed. Her mother cannot explain to her why my Christianity is life or death to me. And it's not something I can write in a letter. It's how I live my life.

If you are squeemish do not read further ;o)
This is posted by Kitty and Faith.

 We cooked and ate our first beef tongue.
First the 4 teens inspected it and grossed out dad.
We will be eating beef tongue again. It is so tender and delicious.

 The tongues are smaller than we thought. :o)

                                The taste buds!

 We are huge meat eaters! Faith can't wait.

 Just being silly. Faith's tongue vs the size of the beef tongue.

 And then there were the duck necks we made soup with! Here is the trachea. We absolutely love duck meat from White Oak farms. Dad puts it on the rotisserie, better than candy!

 I suggested Kitty dissect by cutting the length of the trachea.

 But, well she has her own ideas.

 She was quite pleased with "her" results!

She took this selfie so everyone could "see", because it was her science experiment! And here is her video! She says its for her fans!

Love-Love-Love my teenagers! Praise God!
